Being part of a team of several thousand workers engaged in a multi billion dollar industrial project is a unique experience. Such a demanding environment sharpens reactivity, pragmatism as well as managing safety and human relationships. To be part of a world class award winning corporation is also a defining experience which grows your skill and personality in many different ways.
During my PhD and two post-docs, I have been working on novel environmental sensors. This was the occasion to develop a very multidisciplinary technical know-how. It is also in this academic context that I have expanded my interest in environmental sciences to the sociology of technology, social and environmental impacts as well as business and sustainability
As a project manager and subsequently lead of project management, I was managing small projects through the whole lifecycle. I have also implemented participative management processes and developed a continuous improvement culture.
Whether it was as a consultant for non governmental organizations or as a volunteer for community led initiatives I have always been fascinated by community building and the importance of eco-systems. Through my entire career, I have researched and studied various organizational innovations which I have implemented by developing my own management style as well as getting inspiration from pioneers such as holacracy. In parallel I have been engaged in a process of personal development and self awareness.
My diverse professional experiences coincided with international travels on all continents (Canada, USA, Europe, Iran, Russia, China, Africa, Mongolia, New Caledonia, ...). This led me to navigate sometimes very complex international context which reinforces my adaptability, resilience and determination. These travels were also memorable exchanges which brought me a great openness of mind.
Give life to your projects
This means to give birth to your project, but also to bring to life the organization which supports it, as well as to breathe life into the way the project is executed.
Honesty towards oneself and towards others go hand in hand with a meaningful and authentic life
The world can be rough, and the road ahead can be tough while tasks at hand can feel overwhelming. It takes courage and realism sprinkled with a good dose of enthusiasm to see it through.
There are certain things that cannot be expressed but which can be experienced. It is in the present moment only that we can find the unique expression of life.
The world we live in is full of mystery, and whilst we all have a significant role to play individually, we are also working as a part of a much greater whole. We do not need to know all the answers in order to follow our path.
This greek word inspired from the turk means: to do things well, with care, attention and curiosity – the best way we can.
